Blairgowrie's first ever meeting with Thornton Hibs ended with the Davie Park side bringing back the full three points.

The result puts Blairgowrie on 10 points in the North Division.

Paul Maloney returned to the starting side following his recovery from injury and repaid the faith shown in him by scoring two headed goals.

Ryan Menzies also returned to the squad but had to make do with a place on the bench.

There was no doubt that Blairgowrie's first trip into Fife in the new North Division was going to be a tough task and this was highlighted significantly when Hibs took the lead in just four minutes.

With a lot of speed up front, Thornton caught the Blair back four flat footed and their striker gave them a golden start.

Blair's first effort of the game did not come until almost 10 minutes when some good link up play down the left put Darren Neave in a good position to strike but his effort hit off the post.

The equaliser arrived with incredible cheap jerseys style in 25 minutes.

A Gary Axworthy cross into the box was met by Steven Findlay who teed it up for Graeme French with a 10 yard pass out of the penalty box to the feet of midfielder Graeme French who hit a powerful strike that the keeper was unable to stop despite getting a hand to it.

After Blairgowrie had got back into the game, all looked to vanish when Hibs were awarded a penalty kick following a tackle inside the box by Stewart Nicoll.

But the kick was well saved by Gordon O'Brien who managed to get the ball out for a corner in the process.

This spurred Blairgowrie to a better performance and they were awarded with the lead three minutes before the break.

A cross into the box by Steven Findlay was headed at goal by Darren Neave and when the ball smacked off the crossbar Paul Maloney was on hand to head home from close range.

Hibs showed a renewed desire in their play immediately after half time and they were soon back on level terms when a strike was well saved by Gordon O'Brien but wholesale nfl jerseys unfortunately he was helpless to stop the rebound from close range.

On the hour Blairgowrie regained the lead scoring what proved to be the winning goal.

Steven Findlay was again involved in the build up, this time with a great ball to the far post which was headed home strongly by Paul Maloney.

Darren Neave nearly added to Blair's lead with a clever dink over the keeper but the ball hit off the crossbar and went out for a goal kick.

Almost a minute later the home side also had a penalty appeal rejected when Scott Tovey appeared to bring down an attacker inside the area.
